The film “MWANAKE Unbeschnittene”, is a portrait of women of different nationalities in Africa in their country and in Germany, their feelings and their life. They describe in detail the process of ritual circumcision, and the meaning in their life of an African woman. In addition, the film shows some work of the women’s self-help Project DAFGEM. Beside water and hygiene projects, the program gives information and education for self-help groups for women and gives support for women, who formerly worked as female circumcisionists and now try to find other means of income.
